Meetings
Troop 505 meets most Monday
nights from 7:00p.m. to 8:30p.m.
at Oak Hill United Methodist Church (OHUMC). To check on meetings, visit the Troop Calendar.

We're eager to meet you!
The best way to get to know us is to come participate in a Troop meeting!

Troop 505 was formed in 2001 and began with just
13 boys. Today we're 40 boys, over 20 dedicated
adult leaders, and growing! Our wonderful sponsor
is Oak Hill United Methodist Church.

Mr. William "Butch" Grote, Jr. is our Scoutmaster.
He, with the Assistant Scout Masters, have created
and support a great boy-led program. For more

Did you know that
Troop 505.....

• meets every Monday night, year
  round, except for AISD holidays.
• is boy-led to every extent
  possible, including all planning.
• uses the "Patrol Method" of
  Scouting, in which every scout
  is a member of a patrol and
  every patrol is boy-led.
• has a camp out or troop event
  every month, and goes to
  Summer Camp each year.
• expects good manners from every Scout. Adults are to be addressed
  with "Yes, sir" and "Yes, ma'am".
• expects Scouts to respect
  themselves and others and to use appropriate language at all times.
• welcomes boys of all religious
  denominations; we conduct
  Troop camp out worship services
  in the Christian faith.
• encourages participation in
  the Order of the Arrow, a BSA
  organization that recognizes
  those with excellent camping
  and leadership skills.
• expects every Scout to advance
  in rank.
• is a UNIFORMED troop!
