Background & Interests

My introduction to computers was in grade school when my interest in science resulted in me receiving a Digicomp computer model meant for adults.  It was only a 3 byte computer that required one to program it by moving plastic parts to change each bit.  From that plastic beginning, I joined a growing group that were fascinated by mankind's newest wheel.

My experiences deepened over time and lead to decades of work in the computer field.  Positions held ranged from programmer, systems analyst, troubleshooter, and management slots.  Each position involved me in a rapidly changing field that provided access to everybody from the data entry clerk who needed literacy training to the presidential appointees.

Now, I'm combining my love of computers with a passion for supporting the adaptation to change by educated individuals displaced, replaced, or just out of work. It is unacceptable to me that a large percentage of the middle class slip into permanent poverty. I have come up with my solution. It is my hope that mine will be one of many that will reverse the effects of the recent financial disaster.

Webmaster Certification

The Austin Community College Webmaster Certification process includes both design and programming classes.  These culminate in the Capstone Project which is the final class.  For my Capstone Project, I have worked with The Philosophical Roundtable to provide them with a gateway for their eclectic community that pursues esoteric questions as an avocation. The primary objectives for my Capstone Project Website were to increase the frequency of current members' interactions, communicate with potential members, and provide the basis for a range of member services including blogs, forums, and meeting announcements.

Resume

This presentation of my Resume is both that and an introduction to my interest in developing a website supporting indoor farming as an urban employment alternative.
