Hello my name is Matthew Riebel and I am a freelance Website designer and developer. I started designing and developing websites in 2005 for friends and family, as well as for my own business called Aqua Mist Irrigation in San Antonio. After moving to Austin in late 2006, I started taking classes for website design and development, such as Dreamweaver 8 and Fireworks 8 from Macromedia. In the spring of 2007 I started taking classes for my Webmaster Design and Media Certification at ACC, which I received in the spring of 2008. I enjoy designing websites for small to medium-sized businesses here in Austin as well as across the United Sates. The types of websites that I design are RIA (Rich Internet Applications), Web 2.0, Flash driven, and static paged websites. I specialize in designing with AJAX, JavaScript, ActionScript (Flash), XHTML, HTML, CSS, PHP, and XML. I also enjoy going to local website development and design meetings and national conferences such as Fresh Austin, Austin Wed Design and Developer group, the Austin Flash group, Austin PHP, Adobe CS3 Creative Licenses Conference, and The Web 2.0 Expo.

Digital Design

  • Overview
  • Courses

With each digital design I balance these seven key components in every design: layout, composition, color, texture, typography, imagery, and whitespace. Each of these components has its unique features that make a great digital design. I specialize in using Photoshop and Fireworks for all of my digital designs. I can create layouts for websites, business logos, and also edit photos. I enjoy designing layouts for websites and seeing the design come to life with web 2.0 interactive features.

The most important thing about design is that it communicates who or what you are.

The courses I have taken for digital and graphic Design are:

  • Photoshop 1: Introduction
  • Photoshop 2: Advanced Website Design
  • Flash 1: Introduction
  • Flash 2: Object-Oriented Programming
  • Flash 3: Data Connectivity
  • Fireworks 8 from Macromedia
