The Christian Education Program includes all possible areas, including Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, youth organizations, mission organizations, mission leadership and stewardship education,
and family life programs.
Sunday School Ministry
The Sunday School Ministry provides a structure for members to learn and share in the study of God's Word.
All ages are presented in an accepted organization
planned with special emphasis on a systemic study of the Bible in order to understand its contents and how the teachings may be applied to life.

NBC (Nurture for Baptist Churches)
The purpose of the NBC Ministry is to effectively teach and train members about duties and responsibilities, as well as the church's history, doctrine, organization, procedures and protocol.

Evangelistic Ministry
The Evangelism Ministry visits door-to-door to witness and win souls for Christ. They also meet with new converts to share the plan of salvation, pray with them, and provide encouragement.

This group plans activities and strategies for the weekly prayer meeting.
Senior Citizen Ministries
The Senior Citizens Ministry meets once a month to fellowship together in Bible study, song, prayer and lunch. Pauline Davis, Coordinator
A Senior Citizens committee has been activated to assist Senior members by providing transportation to purchase prescription drugs and groceries, cash monthly checks, etc.

Big Brothers in Christ Ministry

This is an auxiliary established for young men of the church. It is designed to support and encourage
young men ages 8 and up in their Christian walk.
Women's Ministry
Deaconess
Purpose of ministry to assist the pastor and deacon staff in observing the ordinances of the church; the Lord's Supper and Baptism. To contact and administer to the needs of candidates for baptism and to greet and welcome visitors to the church.

The General Mission Ministry is composed of women who are devoted to understanding God's missionary purpose and responding to it. Our purpose is to provide service in the church in any capacity where the feminine touch is required. Our duties in include witnessing to others and providing spiritual, emotional and financial assistance to those who are ill, bereaved or needy. Our mission is to study the Bible and apply its principles in witnessing, leading others to Christ and inspiring by example.
Homebound Ministry

The purpose of this ministry is to carry God's Word to the sick and shut-ins in their homes, convalescent homes and hospitals. They also feed the hungry, give love offerings, and make sizable donations for special holiday food. They visit out -of -town members and other church members not of our congregation.
Big Sisters In Christ

Big Sisters in Christ provides Christian role models and mentors for girls of all ages in our church and the community at large, so as to make a positive impact on their lives. The mission of this ministry is to minister to young girls through Bible study, fellowship and other activities to deepen their knowledge of God's Word and increase their faith.
Youth Ministry
Red Oak Youth Ministry participated in the 2002 Juneteenth Parade
The purpose of this ministry is to develop, train, and provide a wholesome climate for youth so that they may live, grow, mature and exemplify progress toward a Christ-center life. Programs and activities are planned to meet the spiritual and physical needs of our youth faith.
This ministry is divided into three sections:

The H. C. Rockmore Dream Drill Team
The Primary purpose of this Ministry is to provide tools that can be used to study God's word, develop a disciplined life style and be a Christian witness. Young people learn to work together as a team and have
fun learning to STOMP -FOR-JESUS.

Children's Church
Children's Church provides alternative church services for children between 3 and 11 years of age. Our mission is to serve as one of the many ways in which the church assists parents in their awesome responsibility of nurturing children in the fear and admonition of the Lord, and to provide worship experiences for children that will prepare them for intelligent future participation in the adult worship service. Basketball Team
The Basketball program here at Red Oak is divided into four (4) segments: 12 & under Boys, 12 & under girls, 10 & under Boys and 8 & under boys & girls(coed). Each team participate in a Fall Church Basketball Program sponsored by the City of Longview Recreational Department. This year, the 12 & under Boys won second place in their division and participated in the 2002 TAAS State Basketball Tournament held in Lewisville, Texas.

Vacation Bible School
VBS is held during the month of June after the regular school term ends. The purpose of VBS is to stimulate growth and knowledge of the Word of God in a diverse and less structured atmosphere. Children are provided the tools needed to increase
their faith in Jesus Christ, and to develop a desire to
be obedient to him in a fun setting.

Music Ministry Department
The Music Ministry is responsible for singing praises to magnify the Lord and lift up the name of Jesus. They are instrumental in setting the tone for worship. They diligently support all church activities and functions, including accompanying the pastor on visits to other churches. The Music Ministry also stresses choir standards, decorum and rules. There are four choirs in this Musical is held the second Sunday in December.
Lawrence Long, Jr. - Minister of Music
The Family Mass choir is composed of Volunteer singers of various occupations with ages ranging from 20 years old upward. They perform a variety of musical stylers, such as anthems, hymns, gospel songs and African American Spirituals. Rehearsals are held on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. They perform on Third and Fourth Sundays and for most annual days and special events. They also accompany the Pastor on speaking engagements. They are under the direction of the minister of music, Lawrence Long, Jr.
The Male Chorus is also under the direction of the minister of music, is composed of men of the church of differing ages and occupations. They perform on First Sundays, for the Laymen and Male Chorus Annual Day in June and on special occasions as requested. Rehearsals are held on Monday evenings from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M.
The Women Chorus is composed of women of various ages. They perform each fifth Sunday morning and for their
Annual Day in October.
The Youth Mass Choir consist of young people ages 8 years through high school. They perform on the Second Sunday morning, their Annual Day in July and other special occasions.
Their rehearsal is on Tuesday at 6:00 P.M. They are also under the direction of Charles Newhouse.
The H. C. Rockmore Tot's Choir is made up of Tots through age 7. They also perform on Second Sunday mornings. Rehearsals are on Tuesday evening from 6:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. They are under the direction of musician, Maxine McAllister.
Usher Ministry
The Usher Ministry helps to win souls for Christ by making people feel comfortable and welcome in our worship services. They are Doorkeepers for Christ during Sunday morning worship services and other programs/services. They assist with seating of the congregation, distribute programs and other literature, direct the offering and handle medical or spiritual situations during the service.

The purpose of this committee is to promote stewardship through publicity and to provide referral to responsible sources for counsel in the matter of charitable giving.

Health Care Ministry

The Health Care Ministry provides health awareness for the church and the community as well. This ministry consist of Doctors, Nurses and other Medical Staff Support of our church family.
The Health Care Ministry believe that God wants us to take the time to restore our spirits, care for our physical health and care for our mental health.
"Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price,
therefore glorify God in your body, and in
your spirit, which are Gods."

SCHOLARSHIP MINISTRY
EDUCATION COMMITTEE
The Education Committee encourages young christian to further their education beyond high school. The committee assist the church financially through a yearly scholarship fund raiser and by encouraging members to contribute to monthly to the scholarship fund. Since it's inception in 1990. 27 Scholarships have been awarded.
