6th Street

6th Street is the site for many festivals here in Austin as well as many collective gatherings such as the infamous Halloween celebration which brings many to the area for one grand party. After UT football games this street turns into one big celebration or wattering hole to drown sorrows since it is lined with clubs, restaurants, pubs. One can also experience the Austin artistic flare at the galleries. It is located between Lavaca Avenue and I-35 in downtown Austin. After dark this street is transformed into a block party blocking off street traffic for pedestrians only around 11:00PM. This place is crazy with partygoers!

Warehouse District

The Warehouse district is just west of the central business district. It is more upscale to 6th street but with that comes more $$$. It caters to a slightly older crowd than the other downtown entertainment areas such as SoCo and 6th Street. As one would expect, like in other cities, the restaurants and clubs in this district have been renovated from former warehouses into trendy restaurants, top-notch concert halls, and distinctive bars. Live music and great restaurants are everywhere and very easy to find.
