Chuy's
Chuy's is an Austin original starting in 1982 in an old aboandoned Texas barbeque restaurant.
The owners had little to no money for decor so as you can see when you visit one of their places
it is decorated with re-use materials. Awesome idea that is so popular today. Their margaritas
are wonderful with many to choose from. Food has so many selections you will have to have a couple
margaritas to figure out what to eat as you taste their chips and salsa!
Opened in 1983 in an old Victorian house on 6th street Austin which is still there today, this is the most Austin looking
restaurant spot for them. They call themselves a Southwestern Grill and have it all. There is another location that has
some views of the hill country which is pretty nice to see. Brunch is served on Saturday's and Sunday's. They have a
Seasonal menu along with their standard choices. If you are Gluten Free or Vegan there are many selections for you so
don't hesitate to go out, it will be a delightful experience with friends. You can get seared Ahi Tuna, Red Chile & Mango
Steak Salad to Santa Fe Smoked Chicken enchilada to a cast iron skillet cobbler for dessert. Many choices and the bar is
open with unlimited variety. Check it out and make a reservation!
Torchy's Tacos started as a food trailer in the Austin food trailer park by an ex executive who was tired of the
business world headaches and wanted to have some fun. Fun that you can see in the vast taco selections on their
menu. The ingredients are a rare collection paired to a unique name like The Democrat which has shredded beef
barbacoa topped with fresh avacado, queso fresco, cilantro, onions & wedge of lime. That is just one unique pairing
and there is usually a taco of the month selection as well. Their locations are filled with many high school groups as well
as families. Don't forget them for breakfast because they serve up some awesome breakfast taco choices.
