P. Terry's Burger Bar
P. Terry's has been called the "Anti-Fast Food" by Austin Monthly. This is what they stand for! The food you can get quick but
quality with the fast food/dinner establishment look. The whole idea for opening this hamburger stand started for them as a reaction
to reading the book Fast Food Nation. They were appalled by the direction the food service industry had taken so wanted to open
restaurant with high quality ingredients and treat the customers right, maintain a high level of customer care and respect the employees
with such standards as well. They include on their menu breakfast egg burgers, Hamburgers to chicken burgers to veggie burgers.
If your not in the mood for a burger in the morning have their Banana bread. They kept the Texas Tex/Mex flare with offering jalapeno
buns as an option.
The first Dan's Hamburgers started in 1973 on South Congress Ave. They have been around a while and have build up
some very loyal customers. They are not only hamburgers but include a comfort level of breakfast items as well. Breakfast
includes various omelets, bacon, eggs, hand made bisquits, pancakes and more. Their burger menu has the standard burgers and
those with the Tex/Mex flare. And don't discount the chicken nor the B.L.T. sandwich!
Hopdoddy's is as it sounds, a fresh burger restaurant with lots of hop choices, aka beer on tap! They claim
to be the perfect union of burgers and beer. Only you can be the judge of that! They sport 'crafted burgers' which
presents a one of a kind selection of choices using the freshest ingredients as they grind their own meats. Entering the
establishment, you will drool for their fresh baked buns as the aroma fills the air. You or course are not the only one
waiting for their fresh foods, they often have lines out the door so get there early or at a non peak time! And as always
don't forget their fresh cut fries or a salad if not in the mood for fries. Not into beer you say, that's fine because
they have a fine list of margaritas to choose from as well.
