Heidi rides a wave.

If she can ride, anyone can. You just need some friends to help you learn.

This week's trip: This Thursday at 10 a.m., we are heading to Barber's, otherwise known as White Plains Beach. As you may know, this is our typical gathering spot.

Those with military IDs may rent a board for $10, or you can ask our fearless leader, Peggy Jo, to rent a board for you. Rental boards vary from 10 feet for beginners to 8 feet. Leashes are also available.

RSVP with Peggy Jo on her cell phone at (808) 555-1234, especially if you are a beginning surfer. First-time surfers will receive a land lesson from Peggy Jo. As always, carry Peggy Jo's cell phone number with you as weather and surf conditions can vary greatly.

Looking Back

Last Week's Trip: Last week we took our annual jaunt to the North Shore at Hale'iwa. Despite smaller waves, all of us still managed to get a great ride. I have plenty of photos from that location to prove that you actually surfed Oahu's famous North Shore. I also learned the hard way to completely avoid coming in on the rocks. Seven stiches and some crutches later, I am doing very well. Thanks to all who helped me, especially that adorable surf instructor.

If you would like a photo, please contact me at hevanshelpme@gmail.com. Let me know what color rash guard you were wearing and color of your board.
